A Book of Revelation Thanksgiving
An Original Poem

Happy Thanksgiving!
Just when you think you've seen it all, someone sends you a Thanksgiving poem about the Book of Revelation. It goes like this:
‘Twas the day of Thanksgiving, the house was a wreck;
From all the hustle and bustle, gadgets and tech.
Football games on TV and, of course, the turkey;
Were all par for the course, just as it should be.
A bad earthquake came, after dessert had been served;
And the strength of the tremor left many unnerved.
What'd you expect with ice cream by the pound,
And lactose intolerance pills just can’t be found?
Black Friday is coming, you need to keep focus;
Shoppers are out like a thick swarm of locusts.
This is the First Woe, two more must be done;
Book of Revelation plagues are all on the run.
Now comes Armageddon, the dread Second Woe;
That wholly lethal battle that so many know.
Shoppers are trampled as they run toward each sale;
The scene is sheer mayhem, a third part will fail.
The Third Woe Comes quickly, but it comes just in time;
To avoid Armageddon, you just shop online.
But then comes the real woe and it brings great remorse;
It’s your credit card bill that comes in due course.
Soon we'll forget those woes of Thanksgiving past;
And we’ll celebrate again Christ’s coming at last.
The family gathers in, such a sight to behold;
For the coming of comings, today as in old.
If you can't stand the poem, it comes from an anonymous source. If you think the poem is great, then you can thank the one-track-Book-of-Revelation-mind of John Cassinat.
